theReds release their first EP
August 9th, 2007Music has taken plenty of twists and turns over the course of the last few decades. The sounds of today would hardly be radio play in the mid-1990s or even a glimmer of musical styles of the 80s or 70s. But as music evolves, it periodically reroutes back to solid staples of good music. Rock and roll has so many different flavors it could be an ice cream shop. Solid folk rock is the one long-lasting style that has been seen in the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s… and, with bands like theReds - a roadhouse, dirt road, beat-up truck folk rock band based in the Portland, OR, area - it carries well into the new millennium.
theReds are taking pop/folk rock by storm. You’ve heard their sound before, but not with the versatility and true home town appeal coming from Mike, Joel, Jeremiah and my old high school slacker pal and guitar aficionado, Dustin. If you like crossover music, this is a perfect fit: with one part folk, one part country, two parts pop rock and three parts old Chevy truck on blocks in your front lawn, theReds are true American music in a time when being American has more meaning than before. Their latest EP, Rich Disaster, is expected to launch the quartet into a dirty trench of popularity.

Joe,
Really cool site man! I wanted to take the time to personally thank you for writing about us on your killer site. I really like the way you describe our music. Maybe we should have you write the band bio! : )
Once again thank you for your support!
